Samsung feels that the main reason behind achieving this milestone is that its Tablets are available in every range and price. It claims that it is the only tablet manufacturer that offers a large screen Android experience across a wide range of price segments in India. Price segments include low-cost tablets under Rs. 20,00, mid-range tabs between Rs. 20, 000 and Rs. 40, 000 and premium tablets priced above Rs. 40,000. Samsung says that it is the leader in both low and mid-range segments. When it comes to models, the company has also cited names of some best-selling models for each price range. Galaxy Tab A7 in the low range, Tab A7 and Tab S6 in the mid-range segment are its bestsellers. If we talk about premium tablets, then Galaxy Tab S7 is the bestseller.

Challenges ahead for Samsung Tablet Market in India

The current dominance of Samsung might be challenged by upcoming launches like that of the Realme Pad. Realme Pad is expected to feature MediaTek Helio 80, along with a 2000 x1200-pixel, 10.4-inch display, and uniform but thick bezels around it. Speculations suggest that Realme Pad may be priced in the budget (low priced) segment, which is always a heavy mover in the value-sensitive market of India. With Realme’s new launch, it would be interesting to see if Samsung can maintain its dominance in the Indian market. Although the last few years had seen the tablets suffering in comparison to smartphones, but the work from home era since 2020 has revived the interest in tablets as a dual-purpose device (for both work and entertainment).
