The company claims around 15% improvement in single-threaded tasks but a giant 41% leap in workloads that cans scale to all 32 available threads, compared to the last year’s core i9-12900K. Let us talk about the other 6 models that have been announced in addition to a new set of 700-Series chipsets for motherboards. A new smartphone integration platform called Intel Unison has also been announced.
Core i9-13900KF Chipset
This one doesn’t have integrated graphics. It has 36MB of L3 cache, 2MB of L2 per P-core, and 4MB per cluster of 4 E-cores. The base TDP is 125W but the maximum power draw at boost speeds, with an adequate cooling solution, is 253W.
Core i7-13700K and 13700KF CPUs
Both of them are mostly identical apart from the fact that 13700KF doesn’t come with integrated graphics. Both these CPUs have 16 cores in all- 8 P-cores and 8 E-cores. The highest clock speed is 5.4GHz and there is 30MB of L3 cache plus 24MB of L2 cache in total. The base and max TDPs are 125W and 253W respectively.
Core i5-13600K & 13600KF CPUs
These two feature 14 cores (6 P cores and 8 E cores) with the highest speed of 5.1GHz and 24MB and 20MB of L3 and L2 cache respectively. The base and max TDP ratings come in at 125W and 181W. Coming to the common specs of all the 6 CPUs, they support up to 128GB of RAM with 16 PCIe 5.0 lanes and 4 more PCIe 4.0 lanes. Non-F models feature basic intel UHD Graphics 770 Integrated GPU.
Intel CPU Range: Price & Availability
The US prices of CPUs have been unveiled. they range from 294 dollars (Rs. 23,456 before taxes) for the Core i5-13600KF to 589 dollars (Rs. 46,992) for the flagship core i9-13900K. The CPUs will be available in India too in upcoming months. Some more models with 65W and 35W base TDP ratings will launch later. All 6 CPUs will be available as boxed retail units and in pre-built desktop PCs worldwide starting October 20, setting up a showdown with AMDs brand new Ryzen 7000 Series.
Intel Unison
Intel has also launched a software platform that intense to allow users to connect their iPhone or Android smartphone wirelessly to their PCs to easily transfer files, synchronise messages and phone calls, and receive notifications without having to juggle between multiple devices. The tech is based on Screenovate, and the Unison will be available on Intel Evo platform laptops based on 12th and 13th Gen Core CPUs, with Acer, HP, and Lenovo set to support it this year.
